Hello everyone. How is the end of winter treating you? February has hit me like a landslide. My husband and I are fulfilling a long standing dream of building our own house out in the country side. I am excited, busy, and a little tired all at the same time.
My brain is full of the glories of a sledgehammer, budgets and spreadsheets, and the mysteries of plumbing at the moment. I go to work, drive to our new house and build for a few hours, go home to sleep, and then start it all again in the morning. In the edges I try to squeeze in keeping my house clean and keeping up with friends. I haven’t picked up a book since we started building, I am not even reading anything at the moment. (gasp) A state I haven’t been in since I don’t know when.
Needless to say, my little blog has to go on hiatus for a little bit. I can’t keep up with everything, and trying will kill me.
And you know what? That is okay. It is okay to have limits, it is okay to say no to a good thing to make room for a better thing. I like my blog, I like sharing about the books I have read. But right now, other things demand my attention and brain power. I only have so much of both.
I fully plan on coming back in the spring, after the house is built and we are settled in our new place. I look forward to writing and reading in our new home.
I will see you then.
Shaina Merrick
